How it works

Toolasy decodes your image with your browser's built-in canvas, keeps only the pixels inside the crop rectangle you choose, and re-encodes the result — all on your own device. Set the crop area two ways: drag and resize the box on the live preview, or type exact X, Y, width and height values. The numeric fields are authoritative, so the output is always pixel-precise, and any value outside the image is automatically clamped to keep the crop inside your photo. Because nothing is uploaded, there's no wait and no privacy trade-off. Export in the original format, or convert to JPG, PNG or WebP with an optional quality slider for the lossy formats.

Need to change the whole image instead of a region? Resize a photo to exact dimensions with the image resizer, or change its format with the image converter.

Frequently asked questions

How do I crop an image online?
Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP photo, then set the crop area — drag the box on the preview or type exact X, Y, width and height values. Pick an output format and click Crop & download. The whole thing runs on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping happens locally in your browser using the built-in canvas. Your image is never uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere — you can confirm it by opening your browser's Network tab while you crop.
Can I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
Yes. The numeric X, Y, Width and Height fields are the source of truth, so you can dial in an exact crop rectangle down to the pixel. The live readout shows the final output size, and any value outside the image is clamped so the crop always stays inside your photo.
Which formats can I crop and export to?
You can crop JPG, PNG and WebP images. On export, choose Original to keep the source format, or convert to JPG, PNG or WebP. JPG and WebP add a quality slider; PNG stays lossless. Cropping to JPG fills transparency with white since JPEG has no alpha channel.
Will cropping reduce the image quality?
Cropping itself is lossless — it just keeps the pixels inside your selection. Re-encoding to a lossy format (JPG or WebP) can add slight compression, which you control with the quality slider. Export as PNG or keep the original format for a pixel-perfect result.
